Our Story

When Rachel and I moved back to Te Puke from Wellington, we were asked to plant a church. Seeing everyone who was hearing from God for the past six months had been telling us to start a church. We decided that we could not ignore it any more.
Figuring if God tells you to do something, you make sure its God and not some nutter (self included) and do what he asks.

So we dived in, starting June 06 with four adults and a baby. We met in a council building that had a board room table bolted to the floor so we kind or worked round it. To say we looked unlike any church you had ever seen would be an understatement.

We slowley moved past the stage were the whole church could fit in a mini. And progressed to stationwagen size. After a year it would be fair to say we would have needed a people mover to fit all of us.
After a year we progressed to minivan status. And are now if not quite at mega church status at least require a decent size bus to move us.

Through out this journey we have learned a lot, our guys have grown. And we are continually amazed that God cares enough about the people in a town that wouldn’t fit in anywhere else. That he would plant a church near the end of the world to care for them and bring them to him.

I’d tell you what we were going to look like in the future, but the future looks like you. And we are forever changed by the gifts, talents and passions of whom ever comes through the door.
